How complicated can it be? You need to move some air around your facility or operation and need the proper equipment to accomplish that in a safe and efficient manner. Southeastern Engineering Sales is here to help! SES represents top tier companies in the air handling business. Our goal, along with our partners, is to offer the best industrial equipment and services to our clients.

Let’s take a look at SES air handling and the equipment we have to offer to our customers.

WHAT DOES AIR HANDLING MEAN TO SES?

Here at SES, we offer everything from household fans to large centrifugal air handling fans designed for manufacturing facilities. Centrifugal fans are mechanical devices designed to move air or other gases. You may also hear them referred to as “blowers”. The impellers inside the fan are specifically made to increase the speed and volume of the air as they rotate around the center hub. These fans also change the direction of the air flow by 90 degrees. That way the air can be dispersed, or sent in the direction you would like it to go. This style of air handling equipment is basically a large cylinder shape. The fan blades are attached to a rotating hub, which is mounted to a driveshaft.

Centrifugal fans were first mentioned as a type of air handling equipment in 1556 in a book titled “De Re Metallica” by Georg Pawer. He explained how these fans were used for ventilation in mines. After being forgot about for quite some time, centrifugal fans came back to life in the early 19th century. Since then, these air handling devices have been a very popular and effective piece of equipment for many industries.

Now that you have some background information on air handling, and more specifically centrifugal fans, let’s explore some different options.

CENTRIFUGAL FAN OPTIONS

Below are a few of SES’s partners that you can find on our air handling equipment product page. We only team up with companies that share our values and dedication we have for serving our customers.

The New York Blower Company

The New York Blower Company (NYB) offers centrifugal air handling fans that have the ability to handle a variety of different static pressures and temperatures in your air stream. These fans are cost effective options that are very popular within the HVAC, air pollution control, and other industries. NYB fans are reliable and capable of operating in various conditions.

They offer both Clean Air and Material Handling centrifugal fan designs. The Clean Air model is great for handling clean air as you might have guessed from its name. It does have some tolerance for dust and moisture as well. The Material Handling model is designed to generate enough air velocity to pick up the material and move it to the desired collection point. More details on each can be found on the NYB centrifugal fans & blowers page.

Continental Fan Manufacturing Inc.

Continental Fan Manufacturing Inc. (CFM) offers a wide variety of centrifugal blowers and fans for customers to choose. These include cast aluminum, utility fans, radial blade blowers, and flange mount blower options. CFM centrifugal fans can be designed to accommodate many different applications including military HRAC, electronic cabinet cooling, clean room modules, and many more.

HOW DOES SES STAND ABOVE THE COMPETITION

As a crucial part of our business, we offer top quality products to our customers. In coordination with our air handling partners (NYB, CFM, Airfoil, Airmaster, and Flanders) we are dedicated to not only providing these fantastic products at a fair price, but SES will also service these products and serve your needs. We want to see your business succeed and will do the best we can to help you accomplish that.

Our dedicated and reliable service team is sent to facilities to troubleshoot and solve any problems that you experience. We know that quick response times are important so your equipment can be operating at its full potential.

As for manufacturing projects go, the majority can be completed in just a few weeks. They typically range from 2-15 weeks depending on the size of the project and scope of work.

SES GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND ON CENTRIFUGAL FANS

What good is a great industrial centrifugal fan if the other equipment is not of the same quality? You are only as good as your weakest link. When working with SES, you will not only receive top quality air handling fans. We deliver a full package and meet your needs to the best of our ability. Using our state of the art machinery, we are able to provide the necessary ductwork for the fans as well. SES will make custom changes to particular products if requested. Some of these custom change include motors, bearings, base plates, or risers to meet the needs of our customers.

If you want to keep your existing layout in place, then we can accommodate that as well. We are able to fabricate custom parts that will adapt a fan to fit into your existing layout. That way if your facility’s duct work is in good shape and can still be used, you will not have to spend money on equipment that you do not necessarily need. Our goal is to serve your needs in the most cost effective way possible while still providing quality products and outstanding service.

Let’s take a quick look at some of the industries that take advantage of this type of equipment.

APPLICATIONS

As mentioned previously, centrifugal air handling fans are widely used to move air or gases in a facility. They do this be changing direction of the air and dispersing it to a different location. This is a very important process for many markets in today’s world. SES distributes centrifugal fans to customers in industrial/manufacturing facilities, chemical plants, plastic manufacturing, pulp and paper manufacturing, chemical manufacturing, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and water/wastewater industries.

If you operate in one of the previously listed industries or even if you fall outside of these categories but think a centrifugal fan may meet your needs, contact Southeastern Engineering Sales today. We would love the opportunity to learn more about your operations and find a way that SES can serve you.
